Many Seats, Many Voices
Heilsa and welcome to the Sessrumnir Kindred Home Page.
Sessrumnir is the home of the goddess Freyja and translates as "many seats or benches." This Kindred, while being Asatru, welcomes all paths and those who journey upon them. We seek to further the knowledge of the Aesir and the Vanir and to continue to develop rites and rituals, to not only give Them homage, but also to enable us to make Their presence a source of strength to enable us to follow the Nine Noble Virtues of Asatru and to strive to gain the five-fold goals of Asatru. We are open minded, but draw the line at those who discriminate against others because of race, ethnic origin, religion, gender, or sexual orientation. We do not ascribe to the theory of racial purity or any of the political stances espoused by those who do. We are not Volkish, nor will we tolerate any volkishness because we feel that the Gods and Goddesses are freely open to all who call upon them.
Welcome
Sessrumnir Kindred, is based in Colorado Springs, Colorado. We have members across the United States and the world. We meet less frequently now than in years past, but maintain a robust web presence mostly in Yahoo Groups. Our original page hosted on Yahoo's Geocities platform is due to be turned off this month (October 2009). Yahoo has
declared eminent domain on the servers that host Geocities free web pages. The Kindreds page hadn't been updated for a few years, but stood as a beacon for Sessrumnir Kindred on the web for nearly ten years.
It is with this loss of the original Sessrumnir Kindred homepage that I have created Sessrumnir Kindred Blog to carry on the online tradition of Sessrumnir Kindred. It is my hope that kindred members near and far will contribute to the new format with articles, opinions, and updates. I have added the holy texts from the original page. Many of the links on the old page were dead links, but the remaining good ones are included. New ones will be added soon.
